Mauser Long Range Shooting Seminar

Accuracy creates trust -- Long-range shooting seminar in Germany.



On the 8th of August, the shooting range of Wittloge in North Rhine-Westphalia was host for a long-range shooting seminar under the supervision of Hendrik Strohtmann. Mauser and Swarovski have accompanied the event. Besides taking their own guns to the field, the 10 participants used the chance to thoroughly testing the various rifles out of the Mauser series. Walter Siebert, sales staff member of Mauser, was at the event to give guiding advice and sharing his long year experience as shooter and chairman of the Hessian hunting shooter association.

After a warm welcoming with initial briefing about product handling and rules of behavior, the participants followed the team of Hendrik Strohtmann and Walter Siebert to the firing ranges. First shots where made to zero in the rifles on 100m, before going to aim for the 200m and 300m distances, leading to impressive results. Shooting such kind of distances asks for weapons that meet the need of long-range shooters. With the M 03 Target in Caliber .308, Mauser showed a purpose-tailored rifle that combines a Jagdmatch barrel, adjustable comb and muzzle brake Dual Brake.

In addition the participants where shown and introduced to Mauser´s new rifle series M 12. By taking these M 12 rifles in caliber 6,5x55 and the 47 cm short-barreled Mauser M 03 Trail, Walter Siebert was able to show that long-range shots are no big deal if being equipped appropriately.
