Longrange blog 240: MSRC stage 14, Grouse shooting

Midnight Sun Rifle Challenge 2017 is THE Scandinavian competition to participate in if you want to develop yourself as a shooter. Good infrastructure, nice people and nice scenery. Come and explore yourself as a shooter.

This is stage 14, Grouse shooting:
Hunting grouse (actually, ptarmigan) with a rifle has strong traditions in Norway and Sweden. Especially skiing after the birds in winter is a nice experience.

1 minute to set up, 2 shots, 2 targets. Shoot target 1 and shoot target 2 within 7 seconds. Target size 10x10 cm, range unknown but not longer than 300 meters. Score points for each hit.

Training and strategy tip for this stage:
The LR Proficiency test will give you the basic skills needed for this stage. Shoot the correct target, that helps. During the 1 minute setup, line yourself up with the second target (the one that requires fast shooting). Use the remaining setup time to switch to target one. Shoot the first target and spring back to target two and shoot that.
