Midnight Sun Rifle Challenge 2017 is THE Scandinavian competition to participate in if you want to develop yourself as a shooter. Good infrastructure, nice people and nice scenery. Come and explore yourself as a shooter.
This is stage 4, Moving target. The shooter gets 8 shots, 4 passes (one pass is left-right or right-left) and maximum 2 shots per pass. Range is 513 meters, target size ø 35 cm, speed unknown.
Training and strategy tip for this stage:
The LR Proficiency test will give you the basic skills needed for this stage. Shooting a moving target is just a matter of applying lead (aiming in front) and following through on the trigger whilst you keep the rifle moving same speed as the target.
A slow moving target like this can usually be solved with approximately 1 MRAD lead. Target speed is unknown and there is no time to calculate anything, so just shoot - observe impact - correct your lead - HIT!
In this film, besides my own shots, the shots shown are not matched to the actual shooter.
MSRC is hosted by tlbf.no.
The match is supported by THLR via the LRPROFICIENCY program.
